What does a financial coach do?
A financial coach can assist you, no matter your current financial state, by pinpointing opportunities for improved financial management.

Create a strategic plan to pay off debt
How much to invest? How much to save?
Increase your financial literacy, un-complicating money
Accountability partner while bringing your goals within reach

What does a financial coach not do?
A financial coach won't take action for you. They assist in altering your mindset, but it's up to you to decide to act differently. Your Coach is the “Guide”, but you are the “Hero” of your story.

Financial Coaching FAQs
-
A “Financial Coach” is a relatively recent term that has gained popularity over the past three decades. Unlike financial advisors, who provide specific investment recommendations or manage portfolios, financial coaches focus on behavioral finance, budgeting, and assisting clients in achieving their financial objectives. They help individuals comprehend their emotional relationship with money and establish systems that yield improved financial outcomes. Essentially, financial coaches serve as mentors, guiding clients on their financial journey. By simplifying complex concepts and creating actionable plans, they empower individuals to make informed decisions and enhance their financial well-being. Remember, mastering finances provides people with more choices and ultimately leads to greater freedom.

Here’s the distinction between a Financial Coach and a Financial Advisor:
Financial Coach:
Focus: A financial coach primarily concentrates on behavioral finance, budgeting, and helping clients achieve their financial goals.
Role: They act as mentors, guiding individuals along their financial journey.
Emphasis: By simplifying concepts and creating actionable plans, they empower clients to make informed decisions and improve their financial well-being.
Outcome: Ultimately, mastering finances provides people with more choices and greater freedom.
Financial Advisor:
Focus: Financial advisors recommend specific investments, manage portfolios, and provide other personalized financial advice, such as Tax Planning and Estate Planning
Role: They play a crucial role in investment strategies and wealth management.
Emphasis: Their expertise lies in optimizing investment returns, Tax optimization and minimizing risks.
Outcome: Financial advisors help clients build and protect their wealth.
In summary, while financial coaches guide clients holistically, financial advisors specialize in investment-related matters. Both roles contribute to overall financial success!

Everyone, including professionals, can benefit from the guidance and accountability provided by a coach. Even if you are financially stable, there may be areas where you could optimize your finances. It can be challenging to identify the blind spots in your own financial situation, but a coach can help you make the necessary adjustments for greater success. Just like top athletes, executives, surgeons, and lawyers, all work with a coach to stay at the top of their game, so can you.
Financial Coaches assist individuals who feel like they have run out of options. With nearly 80% of Americans living paycheck-to-paycheck, it can seem like there is no way out. However, Coaches help their clients to see that there is hope for a brighter future and that tomorrow can be better than today.
As a financial coach, we have the ability to assist you in various financial scenarios. Whether you’re buried in student loans or credit card debt, developing a financial budget, experiencing financial disagreements with your partner, or aiming for significant money milestones like purchasing a house or securing your retirement, we can tailor our guidance to your specific situation. Our goal is to help you navigate the financial landscape and set you on a path toward financial success. Let’s work together to achieve your money-related objectives!
As a professional financial coach, we recommend considering our services in the following scenarios:
Life Transitions: Major life events such as marriage, divorce, having children, or retirement can significantly impact your finances. A financial coach can guide you through these transitions, helping you adapt your financial strategies accordingly.
Debt Management: If you’re struggling with debt, a financial coach can create a personalized plan to tackle it. They’ll teach you effective debt-reduction strategies and help you regain control of your financial health.
Budgeting Challenges: When your budget feels like a puzzle with missing pieces, a financial coach can help. They’ll assist you in creating a realistic budget, tracking expenses, and making adjustments as needed.
Financial Goals: Whether it’s buying a home, starting a business, or saving for education, a financial coach can help you set clear financial goals. They’ll break down these goals into actionable steps and keep you accountable.
Investment Guidance: If you’re unsure about investing, a financial coach can provide basic investment education. They’ll help you understand different investment options, risk tolerance, and long-term planning.
Behavioral Finance: Financial decisions are often influenced by emotions. A financial coach can help you recognize and manage these emotions, ensuring rational choices aligned with your goals.
Financial Confidence: If you lack confidence in handling money matters, a financial coach can empower you. They’ll build your financial literacy, boost your confidence, and equip you with practical skills.
Couples and Money: Couples often have different financial habits and communication styles. A financial coach can facilitate productive conversations, align financial goals, and strengthen relationships.
Career Changes: Whether you’re switching jobs, starting a business, or freelancing, a financial coach can guide you through the financial implications of these changes.
Holistic Approach: Financial coaching goes beyond numbers—it considers your values, mindset, and overall well-being. If you seek a holistic approach to financial success, working with a coach is beneficial.
Remember, a financial coach is your partner in achieving financial clarity, reducing stress, and making informed decisions. Reach out when you’re ready to take control of your financial future!

When you visit a doctor for a medical visit, the doctor can’t provide an accurate diagnosis until they’ve inspected you and diagnosed any issues. Similarly, in financial coaching, our fees are not disclosed on the website. Why? Because each client’s situation is unique, and the scope of our work together varies. Here’s how we approach it:
Initial Consultation: We offer a free initial consultation. During this conversation, we will learn more about your financial situation, concerns, and goals. It’s a pressure-free discussion where we explore how we can assist you.
Customized Approach: Your needs guide our coaching journey. Depending on factors like frequency of meetings and the depth of our work, our fee will be tailored to fit your specific circumstances.
Positive Outcomes: Our goal is to help you achieve positive shifts in your finances and reduce stress. After a few months of working together, you’ll find that the value you gain far outweighs the investment.
Remember, financial coaching is about more than numbers—it’s about your financial well-being and peace of mind. Let’s explore how we can work together effectively!

Our coaching aims to boost your financial well-being rather than deplete your resources. It serves as a powerful tool to help you cultivate healthy money habits and resolve your financial challenges. While some individuals may wonder if they can afford coaching, perhaps the more pertinent question is: Can you afford not to seek help?
When it comes to overcoming debt, alternative solutions like credit counseling and bankruptcy merely address the symptoms without addressing the root habits that led to the financial situation. Additionally, bankruptcy carries not only a financial burden but also leaves a mark on your personal record.
By working with us as your personal money coach, you’ll have the opportunity to establish sound financial practices. Remember, there’s no shame in facing financial struggles—coaching is here to support you. As a trained professional, we assist people from diverse backgrounds and income levels. Whatever challenges you’re navigating, it’s perfectly okay. Let’s work together toward your financial success!

In-Person or Virtual appointments are available. Our Coaches have worked with clients around the country; and even a few around the globe…Debt and Money Management is not just an “American” problem.
We can meet your needs virtually through the use of Zoom or Microsoft Teams video teleconferencing. We tend to avoid the use of phone alone because body and facial expressions are critical in establishing coaching relationships.
For our In-Person sessions we will typically identify a neutral and quiet location for the client to feel comfortable. We are based in Ellenton/Parrish Florida (South of St. Petersburg and North of Bradenton/Sarasota). Our travel radius is typically 35-40 miles from Parrish Florida. This would include Parrish, Ellenton, Palmetto, Lakewood Ranch, Bradenton, Sarasota, St. Petersburg, etc.

Money fights and problems are the leading cause of divorce in North America, so it's essential for couples to be on the same page when it comes to finances. Effective financial communication is key to a healthy relationship and successful money management. Here are some tips to improve your financial conversations:
Full Disclosure: Be honest and open with each other by sharing all financial information, including debts, assets, income, and expenses.
Equal Access: Ensure both partners have equal access to financial information and share account balances, transactions, and key documents.
Scheduled Conversations: Schedule regular money talks to discuss day-to-day financial decisions and longer-term goals.
Active Listening: Practice active listening during financial discussions and try to understand each other’s perspectives, concerns, and goals.
Safe Space: Create a judgment-free environment for financial discussions and be honest about your financial habits, aspirations, and challenges.

I successfully completed the Dave Ramsey's Financial Coach Master Training program offered by Ramsey Solutions and am a "Ramsey Preferred Coach". This comprehensive training equips coaches with the tools to delve into the core of financial challenges, addressing the root causes rather than merely treating the surface symptoms. Whether you’re seeking assistance with budgeting, debt reduction, handling persistent collectors, building an emergency fund, setting ambitious goals, or creating wealth, we possess the knowledge and resources to guide you toward making informed and intelligent financial decisions that align with your dreams.
Before completing this training, we personally applied the same process to overcome our own financial struggles. My wife and I were drowning in debt, living paycheck to paycheck despite our high income. Through the tools and strategies we learned, we paid off over $100,000 in consumer debt, freeing up well over $4,000 of our income that had previously gone toward minimum payments. We understand the sleepless nights spent worrying about finances, the feeling of being out of control, and the burden of handing over substantial sums to creditors. We’ve been there—I empathize with your experience, and I’m here to show you that it doesn’t have to be a perpetual struggle. Together, we can create a plan, and you hold the power to transform your financial future.

Financial Peace University (FPU) is a nine-week class that teaches the nuts and bolts of Dave Ramsey’s financial principles. It covers essential topics related to personal finance and provides practical guidance on budgeting, debt reduction, saving, investing, and more. FPU is designed to broadly educate participants and equip them with the knowledge and tools to manage their money effectively.
On the other hand, financial coaching involves working one-on-one with a professional financial coach. These coaches are trained extensively in money management principles and help individuals create personalized plans to reach their financial goals. Financial coaching goes beyond classroom education and focuses on individual situations, providing tailored advice and accountability. Here are some key differences:
Format:
• FPU: It’s a structured nine-week course with group sessions, either in-person or virtual.
• Financial Coaching: Personalized one-on-one sessions with a coach.
Content:
• FPU: Covers foundational principles, budgeting, debt management, and other financial topics.
• Financial Coaching: Addresses specific financial challenges, customizing advice based on the client’s unique circumstances.
Accountability:
• FPU: Participants learn in a group setting but may not receive individualized accountability.
• Financial Coaching: Coaches provide ongoing support, helping clients stay on track with their financial goals.
Scope:
• FPU: Provides a broad overview of financial concepts.
• Financial Coaching: Dives deeper into individual situations, addressing specific challenges and goals.
In summary, FPU is an educational program, while financial coaching offers personalized guidance and accountability. Both can complement each other, with FPU providing foundational knowledge and coaching offering tailored support. If you’re looking for a more individualized approach, financial coaching might be the right choice for you!
Coaches at Living Beyond Line of Sight are trained to support groups that would like to go through FPU or if you would like to focus on 1:1 financial coaching advice and accountability.
